It’s September 29 and the last time I sent out a biweekly newsletter was August 18. I’m awesome at this counting to two weeks thing.
I’m going to ditch the typical format for this update to get it written and out the door. The first draft of the WIP has expanded to forty-two thousand words, plus a couple. Which is good progress. Please don’t look at what the word count was on that last newsletter. Because I’m not. The number is bigger, and bigger number is good. Since we’ve talked, the two main characters went on a first date that went terribly because each needs to get over their hang-ups before they can work as a couple. So that’s what the next couple dozen thousand words are going to be about.
Oh. And stopping the sinister Josiah Applethwait (NC15). Fun bit about the villain, I stumbled on a reddit post where someone had taken the official portraits of all 50 GOP members of the Senate and ran them through a facial averaging program and came up with…well, Josiah Applethwait. I don’t normally work from a picture. In fact, I tend to have a hard time with facial descriptions in general. I blame a low level face blindness I call “face myopia”. I understand I don’t actually have face blindness, but I’m terrible at recognizing people and I cannot describe what even people very close to me look like. It’s something I’m working on, but it complicates descriptions.
Anyway. Here he is.
That’s the face of a man you don’t want to see succeeding at the end of the book, isn’t it? Isn’t it??
So. That’s been me. How’s been you?
That facial Average of the GOP senate is...bang on.
